Lukas HÖLLBACHER wins both RACES in S1 GP - Thomas CHAREYRE - 4th Time World Champion
Melk (Austria) 20 September 2015 – The crowning of Thomas Chareyre for the fourth time as World Champion marked a successful return to Austria for the final Grand Prix of the 2015 FIM Supermoto World Championship but while the Frenchman celebrated his success, the Austrian fans found a new hero of their own as Lukas Hoellbacher roared to a double moto victory for the first time this season.
In S2 European Championship, with the Title already won by Marc Reiner Schmidt, Fabrizio Bartolini did enough to hold down second after a nailbiting end to the S2 season.
S1GP Chasing a fourth World Title TM Racing Thomas Chareyre took the holeshot in race one with KTM Rudolph Bauer and HUSQVARNA Lukas Hollbacher tucked in neatly behind. Chareyr’s closest rival HONDA L30 Racing Ivan Lazzarini was just inside the top ten in seventh.
Chareyre led for the first three laps but by lap four had been caught and passed by the highly motivated Hollbacher, riding in front of his home fans.
With Chareyre in a comfortable second position, it was up to Lazzarini to make his move and the Italian put on a brave charge to third before the halfway mark, but was unable to do anything about Chareyre, who came home second behind Hollbacher. The Title would have to be decided in the final race of the season.

S1GP Race 2
After giving the home fans something to cheer about with his victory in race one Lukas Hollbacher was ready to do it again in race two. When he crossed the line at the end of the first lap though the Austrian was down in fourth behind Thomas Chareyre, Rudolf Bauer and Hannes Maier – three Austrians in the top four though was good enough for the home crowd. Ivan Lazzarini meanwhile was buried in seventh and his hopes of that elusive first World Title was slipping further away. After three laps the race looked to have settled down, Chareyre holding off the three Austrians with Pavel Kejmar fifth, Teo Monticelli sixth and Lazzarini, making no progress still in seventh.
Bauer dropped from second to fifth promoting Maier to second and Hollbacher to third but despite that slip Chareyre was still under pressure from Maier.
But you sensed that the Frenchman was doing just enough to maintain his advantage, careful not to make any mistakes. He also looked like a man who wanted to take the title with a win.
However, that all changed on Lap nine when TC4 slipped back to fifth leaving Hollbacher as the new race leader ahead of Hannes Maier; an Austrian one-two with Kejmar third.
Three laps later it was all over, Hollbacher crossed the line to secure his first double victory of the season, extra special as it was at home, but it was somewhat overshadowed by Thomas Chareyre’s fifth place being good enough to secure the S1GP World Championship.

SHR Suzuki Petr VORLICEK took the holeshot closely followed by KTM Manuel HAGLEITNER, but all eyes were on the battle for second position in the Championship. TM Racing Toni Klem was placed third ahead of HONDA Assomotor Fabrizio Bartolini with HONDA Freccia Diego Monticelli further back in ninth. But the fastest rider on track and making the best progress was HONDA L30 Racing Yuri Guardalà, the Italian wasted no time in climbing from sixth on lap, was fifth by lap two after a mistake from Klem saw the Finn drop back to eighth. Guardalà then passed SUZUKI Team Grau David Gimenez to take fourth on lap four before setting about Bartolini.
Meanwhile the top three positions remained unchained as Vorlicek did his best to stay ahead of Hagleitner and Bartolini.
With five laps to go Guardalà pounced on Bartolini to nick third and three laps later he was past Hagleitner, and with two laps remaining was the new race leader after passing Vorlicek, who had led for twelve laps.
Guardalà took the win from Vorlicek and Hagleitner with Bartolini taking fourth. Klem lost ground to ‘Bart Man’ in seventh, one place ahead of Monticelli.

S2 Race 2
Once again it was Vorlicek who grabbed the holeshot ahead of Guardalà and Hagleitner, with Bartolini in sixth, Monticelli eighth, with Toni Klem failing to complete the first lap. By the end of the opening lap, Bartolini was looking relaxed and had moved up to fifth. But right behind him was Monticelli who’d passed two riders in one lap to get into sixth. Up front, less than one second separated the first three, with Hagleitner moving past Guardalà into second. A lap later and the Austrian was past Vorlicek and pulling clear as the new race leader.
On lap five Hagleitner set the fastest lap of the race with a gap of just over three seconds, as Guardalà eased past Vorlicek for second.
Lorenzo Lapini was doing a great job of keeping Bartolini at bay in fourth, Bartolini doing enough to maintain second in the Championship by staying ahead of Monticelli.
By the next lap though, it was all change: Hagleitner led, Lapini second, Guardalà 3rd, Vorlicek 4th Monticelli 5th and Bartolini 6th and that’s how it stayed until the checkered flag.
Hagleitner took his first S2 race win, Lapini and Guardalà rounding out the top three. More importantly though Bartolini did enough to claim second overall in the standings.

Red-Bull-Pilot Mattias Ekström übernimmt DTM-Führung in Spielberg
Der Audi-Pilot Mattias Ekström (SWE) hatte es in Spielberg noch nie zuvor auf das DTM-Podest geschafft. Am 2. August 2015 schlug der Schwede voll zu und jubelte nach einem schwierigen Regen-Rennen über den Sieg. Dank dieser souveränen Demonstration übernimmt Ekström auch die Spitze in der Meisterschaft.
Der Österreicher Lucas Auer versöhnte sich nach einem für ihn enttäuschenden Ergebnis am Samstag (21.) mit dem sehr guten 7. Platz beim Finale seines DTM-Heimdebüts.
Eine großartige Performance lieferte der Salzburger Philipp Eng im Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland ab. Mit dem Sieg am Samstag und Rang 3 am Sonntag baut er seine Gesamtführung aus und ist bis Saisonende so gut wie nicht mehr einzuholen.
Mit Michael Douglas und Catherine Zeta-Jones hielt Hollywood-Glamour Einzug an der österreichischen Rennstrecke in der Steiermark. Insgesamt 52.000 Zuschauer pilgerten am DTM-Wochenende 2015 an den Red Bull Ring. Auch Prominenz aus Österreich war am Ring zu sehen . ( Bild - Hansi Hinterseer mit Familie )
Übel mitgespielt wurde dem bis dahin in der Mesisterschaft führenden PASCAL WEHRLEIN im GOOIX Mercedes - durch ein in Auftrag gegebenes " TIMO schieb Ihn RAUS" konnte Wehrlein seine Fahrt nicht fortsetzen und landete im Kiesbett.
Der Verursacher Timo SCHEIDER ( Audi ) wurde disqualifiziert und der Fall an das Sportgericht weitergeleitet.

Auch 2015 gastiert die DTM von 31. Juli bis 02. August 2015 am Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Die Piloten werden mit ihren fast 500 PS starken Boliden im Herzen der Steiermark Gas geben. Die Herausforderung der anspruchsvollen Strecke nehmen Audi, BMW und Mercedes-Benz in Angriff.
Neben der Königsklasse des Tourenwagensports sind auch wieder zahlreiche spannende Partnerserien zu sehen.

LEIDER KEINE PUNKTE BEIM HEIMRENNEN AM RED BULL RING
Formel 4 Pilot Tommy Preining nimmt viel Erfahrung nach Spa mit
Der Linzer Thomas Preining musste die ADAC Formel 4 Meisterschaft am Red Bull Ring in Spielberg punktelos beenden.
Nach Platz 15 im gestrigen 1. Lauf, ging der 16- Jährige von Startplatz 13 in das turbulente 2. Rennen. Nach einem guten Start und zwei Safety Car- Phasen, duellierte sich Preining in der Schlussphase des Rennens mit Mick Schuhmacher um Platz zehn und damit den letzten Punkt.
Dabei kam es auf der Start- Ziel- Geraden zu einem Unfall, der das Ende für beide Piloten bedeutete. Der Sohn des sieben- fachen Weltmeisters, Michael Schuhmacher, prallte dabei mit seinem Auto gegen die Boxenmauer und verletzte sich an der Hand. „Ich bin sofort in Micks Garage und habe mich bei seinem Team entschuldigt.
Ich hoffe, dass er bei seinem nächsten Rennen wieder mit dabei sein kann“, so der Linzer Schüler.
Preining wurde von der Rennleitung als Verursacher des Unfalls bestraft und musste Lauf drei von der letzten Startposition aus in Angriff nehmen.
Mehr als Platz 28 war daher nicht möglich. „ Das Wochenende ist leider enttäuschend für mich verlaufen, aber ich habe wieder viel gelernt und freue mich auf den nächsten Einsatz!“
Das nächste Rennen findet von 19. Juni bis 21. Juni 2015 in Spa- Francorchamps statt.

Aus für Internationale Jännerrallye
Die Int. Jännerrallye im Raum Freistadt / Oberösterreich findet 2016 nicht statt. Dies gab der Vorstand des Rallye Club Mühlviertel (RCM) bei einer außerordentlichen Hauptversammlung am 2. Juni in Freistadt bekannt.
„Der gesamte Vorstand stellt alle Funktionen einem noch neu zu wählenden Führungsgremium zur Verfügung. Voraussetzung ist, dass bis zur ordentlichen Generalversammlung am 18. September 2015 ein Wahlvorschlag eingebracht wird, der die Zustimmung der Generalversammlung findet. Wenn nicht, steht der aktuelle Vorstand dem Rallye Club Mühlviertel noch ein Jahr zur Verfügung. Allerdings ohne im nächsten Jahr motorsportliche Veranstaltungen zu organisieren. Also auch nicht die Int. Jännerrallye. Diese Vorgangsweise soll das Bestehen des Rallye Club Mühlviertel absichern“, erklärt Obmann Ferdinand Staber.
„Keine finanziellen Probleme“
Ausdrücklich hält Staber für den gesamten Vorstand fest: „Finanzielle Probleme hat der Rallye Club Mühlviertel keine. Obwohl eine Absichtserklärung von Eurosport vorliegt, dass die Int. Jännerrallye bis 2018 fixer Bestandteil der European Rallye Championship (ERC) bleiben soll, sind wir nicht bereit, die Int. Jännerrallye 2016 durchzuführen“, nennt Staber klare Gründe für die Entscheidung.
1. Entwicklung der Nennungen / Starter
Der Trend der Teilnehmerzahlen zeigt seit 2012 stetig nach unten. ERC minus 45 Prozent, Österreichische Meisterschaft (ORM) minus 17 Prozent. Eine Trendumkehr in absehbarer Zeit ist nicht in Sicht, da viele Teams mit finanziellen Schwierigkeiten kämpfen
2. Hohes finanzielles Risiko
Mit den Zuschauereinnahmen muss der RCM zumindest rund 30 Prozent des Budgets von jährlich 650.000 bis 700.000 Euro decken. Aufgrund der nicht vorhersehbaren Wettersituation ist das finanzielle Risiko enorm hoch.
3. Kostenexplosion
Die Kosten für die Durchführung der Internationalen Jännerrallye entwickeln sich in die entgegengesetzte Richtung zu den Nennungen und stiegen seit 2012 um 47 Prozent.
4. Fehlende Akzeptanz
Wie vom österreichischen Fahrervertreter Mario Saibel per E-Mail an den Vorsitzenden der IG Rallye Michael Strassegger ausgedrückt, ist die Internationale Jännerrallye aus Kostengründen als nationaler Staatsmeisterschaftslauf nicht mehr erwünscht. Außerdem wurde beispielsweise vor der Jännerrallye 2015 von der österreichischen Rallyszene zum Boykott des Winterklassikers im Mühlviertel aufgerufen.
5. FIA und Eurosport säumig
Seit Jahren bemängelt der RCM, dass die Internationale Motorsportbehörde FIA und Eurosport nicht in der Lage oder bereit sind, bis Mitte August einen ERC-Kalender für das nächste Jahr zu fixieren, obwohl der RCM das wiederholt forderte. Dass die FIA es nicht schaffte, rechtzeitig für ein klares Reglement zu sorgen, kostete der Int. Jännerrallye 2015 zumindest zehn bis 15 Starter.
6. Eurosport Sendezeiten
Obwohl bereits für 2015 zugesagt, ist eine Vorverlegung der Sendezeiten auf Eurosport nicht möglich. Sendungen nach 23 Uhr stellen zumindest im österreichischen und europäischen Raum keine Primetime dar.
Da der Vorstand des RCM keine positiven Änderungen in den angesprochenen Punkten erwartet, fiel der Beschluss, die Int. Jännerrallye 2016 nicht durchzuführen, einstimmig aus.
Beeindruckende Zahlen
Abschließend zieht Obmann Ferdinand Staber Bilanz über die motorsportlichen Aktivitäten des RCM zwischen 2003 und 2015:
Auch nach internationalen Maßstäben hervorragend organisiert und unfallfrei durchgeführt wurden in der Region Mühlviertel in diesem Zeitraum:
Zwölf Mal die Int. Jännerrallye sowie je drei Mal das Pirelli Shootout für die Rallyeweltmeisterschaft und die Mühlviertel Rallye.
Mehr als fünf Millionen Euro wurden umgesetzt. Die Umwegrentabilität ist mit rund 40 bis 45 Millionen Euro zu beziffern.
